At the Makerspace the weather outside is starting to get cold and its time to design and think about our outdoor furry friends. Our friend Linda asked about creating outdoor shelter for local feral cats to have a safe place to stay. She started out finding a few designs online to begin with and found a great project from Chris Peterson. After looking at this and doing some prototypes with Linda, Travis, Brandon and others at an Open Build Night we made some design updates and it is something that can be made quickly by adults and kids, so we had a 757 Makerspace Cadets and an adults class on building the Cat Condo’s (build instructions in link below).

Got a tweak you want to make to it, go ahead!
Tips:
- We found for the kids, they really liked to write notes to the cats (inside and outside, use a sharpie).
- These stack really well together, if you need them to stay and not be more secure punch a small hole and use a zip tie from one unit to another and repeat as needed.
- If you want to use this as a fund raiser, you can collect the many political groups and build different cat colonies with each group of signs to create a fun rivalry.
